Melissa is signed to Manhattan Records (Capitol/ EMI), and is thankful to Blue Note Records' Bruce Lundvall who has worked with her for the last two years to put together her first album. In the summer of 2002, Melissa recorded 12 tracks all arranged and produced by Arif Mardin; her band included her brother Mike on guitar, who also wrote two of the songs for her, and Alan Pasqua on piano. The release will be early in 2003. Her next album for the record label is perhaps a Christmas album with her father at the piano.
