Growing Up in Theater

Melissa did so many plays and musicals growing up, and thought it might be fun to remember the names for this website. She has the photos to prove it, and many hilarious home videos. In Junior High, Melissa was already commuting to New York after school and auditioning. As a teen in the big city, she didn't have much luck, or very good advice, but she carried on trying. At school and in summer theater, she fared much better. It was at French Woods Summer Theater where she met now-Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown where they co-starred in many shows like EVITA. Here is a listing of the roles she has played in fully staged productions since high school. Yes, she was Eva Peron at 14 and Carla in NINE when she was 15.
